We are in the Dominican Republic! The roads were covered in snow and not favorable conditions when we headed to the Pittsburgh airport at 3:00 am Saturday morning. But our good Lord protected us on our drives, and our flight departed on time (many other flights departing after ours were delayed).

Upon our arrival in the D.R., we were so warmly greeted by Robin and Ember, the King’s Kids leaders. Saturday evening, we sat at Robin’s dinner table in fellowship and joined hands in prayer, thanks, and praise to our Lord.

Sunday morning, we worshipped at a local church. The songs were in Spanish, though many were the same we sing at The Bible Chapel, so our voices quickly united together in worship. The message that morning was from Acts 18:1-17 and titled “Nothing can stop God’s plans.” The church provided earbuds for us to hear the message translated live in English by one of the local students who speaks English. Studying the details of Paul’s journey to Corinth in Acts, God’s hand of provision and purpose were clear. The Lord provided for Paul, and He provides for His people now. He is always on time. He is always working for His good plan and purpose and our good. He is trustworthy. We are never alone. How His Word is life and strength to all who follow Jesus, no matter what part of the world one is in, or the language they speak.

Monday morning, we will spend our time ministering to preschool-aged children and teaching them about God’s work in and through the life of Daniel. In the afternoon, we will be teaching children ages preschool through teenagers about Noah and God’s promises and faithfulness.

We thank you for your prayers. They are seen and felt. Please pray today that the kids’ hearts would be open to God’s Word, that they would know that they are deeply loved and seen by Him and by His people, that relationships would be easy to form, and that our first day would be a rich beginning to a fruitful week together.
