MEMBERSHIP AT THE BIBLE CHAPEL
Believers are called to belong.
At The Bible Chapel, we believe following Jesus was never meant to be lived out alone. Therefore, membership at TBC is the meaningful commitment to make TBC your church home, grow as a follower of Jesus Christ, and join others in living out our mission and values together.
Membership at The Bible Chapel is a unified commitment to become Christ’s mature body through growth in our five values:
Word, Worship, Connect, Serve, & Share.
We long to see every follower of Jesus pursue belonging in a healthy local church because believers are called to belong, and we do this through membership at TBC.
We also want you to know that you are welcome to worship, connect, and serve here in many ways as you explore whether TBC is the local church you’d like to belong to. Membership is not primarily about what you can do – it’s about what you’re committing to: formally making TBC your local church and joining fellow members in owning our mission and values.
The biblical call to belong is both an identity and a commitment. As Christians, we belong not only to the Lord but also to one another as His people. We are adopted into the eternal family of God, Christ’s global Church. We are also called to belong within a local church. Throughout the New Testament, we see in Acts and the letters written to local churches instructions on local church leadership, and “one another” passages to be lived out in obedience within a local church community.
In other words, God designed us to belong to His Church and to a local church. At TBC, we express this commitment through our membership process.
For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function,
so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
Romans 12:4-5

As we live out our mission of developing followers of Jesus Christ together, we ask every member to commit to following Christ and pursuing spiritual maturity by growing in our five core values:
- Word. Being in God’s Word daily as individuals and together in corporate gatherings and through our Chapel Classes.
- Worship. Attending weekly worship services and viewing every aspect of our lives as worship.
- Connect. Building Christ-centered relationships through our Chapel Groups, care ministry, and other opportunities to connect.
- Serve. Discovering and using our God-given gifts to serve Christ’s Church through our Chapel Serve Teams.
- Share. Being an ambassador for Christ by proclaiming His good news in our homes, communities, city, and throughout the world.

MEMBERSHIP FAQ
Can I attend without becoming a member?
Absolutely. We welcome people who are exploring faith, visiting TBC, or looking for a church home. Membership is for those who are ready to make a formal commitment to TBC as their local church.
Who is membership for?
Membership is for adults (18+) who follow Jesus Christ.
When should I become a member?
When you have moved from exploring to considering TBC your home church and desire to formally commit to belonging here as a member.
Is baptism required for membership?
Baptism is not required to pursue membership at TBC. However, because baptism is an important biblical expression of faith in Jesus, we strongly encourage those who have placed their faith in Christ but have not yet been baptized to take that next step.
Is membership required to serve?
Not always. Some serve opportunities require membership, particularly roles involving leading, teaching, mentoring, or the congregation’s medical/security needs. However, there are other opportunities to get involved in serving along the way. For more information about serving at TBC, please visit biblechapel.org/serve.
