Spirit of Unity

Posted by Team Leader on

This was the last day of the Women's Conference, and our team was sad to see it end.  It offered one more teaching on "Being Doers of the Word" in the morning, followed by a time of testimonies.  Many women came to the microphone and shared how the conference had impacted their lives.  It was truly a blessing to be a part of what God was doing through this special time together.

The buses pulled in around lunchtime, and the ladies left with the bag lunches that had been prepared for them.  We stood waving to our dear friends as they pulled out and headed for home.  Now it was time to clean up and pack everything away for next year.

Another very special event took place on Sunday afternoon. Our team was invited to a birthday party!  WOL staffers, Freddy and Claudia, threw their daughter, Samara, a party for her 3rd birthday, and we were invited.  It was a first for all of us to see how another culture celebrates a birthday.  Let me just say that they know how to throw a party!  It was lively and fun for both children and adults.  Fellowshipping with each other through these types of activities helps us get to know each other better and deepen the bonds of friendship between us. What a special gift!

Sunday had been a great day, and it was just as full as the others, so when bedtime came, we welcomed it with open arms.

Seeing the Word of Life staff work together with a real sense of love for one another and in a spirit of unity was a beautiful thing!  The team seems to be healing from the tremendous loss of Mirko two years ago and has warmly welcomed Jon and Bianca Fowler in as their new leaders.  They are in a healthy place and are charting a new course for the future. God is good!
