Hola From Panama!
We started the day early with a team devotion at 7 am. Brian covered some aspects of Psalm 37, discussing humility, and waiting on the Lord as we pray.
Then we went to Isla Grande. On the way, we met Nedelka in Panama City so that Marcia and Janeth could join us. We arrived at Isla Grande via boat.
We went snorkeling with the kids on and of during the day. We also cut coconuts off of the palm trees and drank the coconut water. What a Joy to seeing the kids having fun at the beach. As the kids were resting from snorkeling, Jordan was able to share her testimony with the kids. God provided the opportunity at the right time. The kids had a chance to ask Jordan questions. After dinner we did a devotion on dating. We separated the boys from the girls. It was a fruitful time because the kids opened up and asked very personal questions. What a blessed and beautiful time.
Jordan led the team devotion on Philippians 4:10-13. She reminded us that we can do all things through Christ regardless of the circumstances. We had a casual breakfast with the children before going back to snorkeling. The children were braver today as they explored several hundred yards of reef under the supervision of Brian and Santiago (30 and 32 year old children).
After lunch Fernando led a devotion on creation. We used beautiful examples of God’s creation which surrounded us. Fernando referenced a glass cup Ellian found on the bottom of the ocean while joking stating the glass formed on its own over millions of years of waves crashing on the sea floor as an example of evolution’s foolishness. The children laughed as it is obvious to a child evolution is impossible.
We headed back to the mainland via boat and drove back to Chame to share dinner with Santiago, Yuli, Andre, Lady, Luis, and Nedelka. It was a joy catching up with everyone. We are excited to host Metro Amigo children tomorrow at the Word of Life Camp.
Praise the Lord for all the opportunities He has provided and will continue to provide.
