Dear family and friends,
Today was laid back compared to other days this past week. My group left at 10:00 to go to The Church of Grace and Hope. The church had about twenty people plus the eleven of us. It was cool to experience worshiping with people who spoke a different language than I do. After the church service, we went to a mall to get lunch and look around at the different shops. We then got to see a part of the Panama Canal. It was nice to not have to perform for a day, but I am ready to get back to work tomorrow.
Today my group went to Iglesias Refugio de Gracia and it was a really exciting experience to worship with others who spoke another language. Two of our group members also shared their testimonies with the church. After church, we ate lunch at a mall and then went to a market to buy souvenirs. It was a relaxing day but tomorrow we are back to working in the schools!
Today was a relaxed, no rush kind of day. We went to church this morning with our good friend Freddy. Visiting a church that speaks a different language was a learning experience because of the language barrier and communicating with the Panamanians. Afterward, we all went to the mall, which was awesome! It was huge and we had so much fun. There was a little bit of free time to shop and finally buy some razors for shaving!!! (Very much needed.) Towards the end of the day, we drove around, went site seeing, and stopped at a souvenir shop. This was all fun, but it’s back to work tomorrow
We took a break from performing today. It was a nice, calm day where we got to attend a church service at 10:00 in the morning. After the church service, during which two students shared their testimonies, we took a quick break before moving to “Sunday School,” where we sat around a table and had a deep discussion on the book of Esther. Afterwards we went to a huge mall and ate lunch. We were able to explore the mall for a bit and we managed to make our way back to the meeting area JUST in time! After that, we went to a market where we all got to buy souvenirs. Next, we went site seeing and took a few pictures by a giant “Panama” sign, and a few on the edge of the water. Later, we got back to the camp and ate dinner, after which I played A LOT of Ping-Pong, and now I’m about to go play some Killer Uno. Overall, it’s been a fun day, but I can’t wait to be back to dancing tomorrow!
