On Our Way

Posted by Ryan Middleton on

Well, we are currently on 10 hours into our long flight to Seoul, South Korea. We have 4 hours and 15 minutes left of this flight as of 10:05 Pittsburgh time.

The team met at the airport early this morning at 6AM and had a pretty seamless check-in. We then prayed together before continuing on to the security checkpoint.

Everytime we travel with our team shirts on, there are plenty of opportunities to share with people what we are doing. That is an opportunity for us to show who Christ is and it never gets old.

I am really excited about this team and our mission. We will be coming alongside the staff and residence of a home called Faith House, where girls who have been rescued from the sex trafficking industry are introduced to the love of our Savior, having been through the lowest of lows and undoubtedly feeling completely helpless.

When Glenn Delich and I visited this home last year, it was the single most impactful spiritual moment of my life. There I stood, with 33 young ladies ranging from 10-20, and in complete awe of how amazing the redemptive power of our God is. I am so excited that He has called this team to be involved with the ministry that is taking place at Faith House.

We have a very unique team in a wide range of skill sets. The counselors (Vonnie Teagarden and Karen Pash) will be coming alongside the staff and train them how to handle the types of issues and problems that they face on a daily basis. They will also work directly with the girls, giving them constructive ways to handle and break free from the suffering that they have been victimized by.

We have our amazing team leader, Glenn Delich, who will be using his expertise as an Adminsitrator to assist the home in many of their administrative needs and help them to develop a structure that enables them to successfully continue doing the work they are doing. Glenn will also be heavily involved in the discipleship and leadership training.

Jaclyn Stottlemyer will be leading the charge with abstinence training, working with the girls and the entire school that they attend, as well as with young ladies at a Muslim school! What an amazing opportunity that is!

Caroline Martin will be leading the charge to treat these young ladies like the princesses they are. To help them to realize that they are amazing and beautiful and a shining light. Caroline will be primping the girls, taking care of their hair and nails and lots of awesome girl stuff.

Grant Martin will be preaching at the church on Sunday! How awesome is that! He will also be critically involved in the discipleship training as well as being the amazing handyman.

I will be heavily involved in the discipleship training and the leadership development, as well as assisting Jaclyn with the abstinence training.

We are a team, so we will be working together on all of these things. Please pray that we continue to have good travels, that we are completely submissive to God's leading of us both as individuals as well as a team.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all of our prayer and financial supporters. We are so blessed for God to call us to this trip and for our supporters to confirm that calling. Check back, we will be blogging daily! God bless and thank you all!

PS, sorry no pictures yet, we will send lots in the coming days

Hi Team! We will be praying for you while you're gone! Ryan thanks for the breakdown of who's doing what on the team! This really helps to know how to pray.
I am forwarding the link to the blog to our prayer email group so that they will pray also!
Team will you please consider coming to February's Impact prayer meeting on Feb 16 and sharing about your trip with the prayer team? We would love a report on what God did in you, the team and in Thailand! Please discuss it and get back to me so I can publicize it. The report would be 6:00-7:00 p.m. and then you can stay for prayer from 7:00-8:00 p.m.
Thanks for being our hands and feet in Thailand!!

Dear Team,
The excitement and "Awesomeness" of God, has filled my heart as I've read your email. Praying for The Holy Spirit to fill you with power as you speak of Jesus love with everyone you come in contact with. He will "nudge" you at just the right time, and when He does, just obey. With love and continued prayers.

Dear Team, it is exciting to read of how God brought you all together to be the hands and feet of Jesus for these hurting women. I pray that through your efforts they will see Him. May He give you wisdom and understanding for each encounter as you make disciples. Thank you for going for all of us!

Hi Everyone,
As I'm praying for you, I'm thinking it's an exciting time for you to minister, however, it's also a dark situation. Not sure if Grant or Caroline will get my text with a song

Donna Brenlove Jan 24, 2017 11:04am

I'm praying for the love of Christ to manifest in the girls' lives through your witness and that they are transformed forevermore into His likeness. May God bless your faithful witness.

Dear Team,
Thinking of you this morning and how exhausted you must feel... but only in your body, not your spirit. Nehemiah 8:10... the joy of the Lord is your strength. Know you are loved and prayed for.
