January 2020 Panama Trip - Day 2

Posted by Team Leader on

Hurray !! The first day has arrive with bus loads of children, 187 of them to be exact. All of us were able to be apart of the welcoming committee, as we lined the entrance and greeted the children with handshakes, smiles, laughter and some reunions. The excitement filled the large pavillion and we were filled with the anticipation of watching Gods plan unfold. After the children were organized into teams, they met their team leader and went off to settle into their dorms for the week. It was amazing to see the children play the well done organized games, relay races, tug of war, obstacle courses, etc. The noise level went up to unknown decibels with all the cheering for the winning teams. After lunch, the children had to be evaluated in the large pool by the "Swim Test". Well this was a time of true joy, to see the children play in the water and the majority of them were able to keep their heads above the water. All of the us and the other adults kept vigilant as we manned our post, but also got into the action and the pool. After a great chicken and rice dinner, the evening program began. The children took no time at all to learn the songs complete with dance and hand motions. The excitement once again was building through the story of the skit and then John Fowler presented the gospel message to close our time together.  Praise God and Amen!! 1st day has come to a close.

Thanks for the post. I'm glad to see the week was off to a good start. Praying for open hearts to hear the message, and for the Spirit to be at work in that place.

Keep the posts coming.
