Home Sweet Home (Hungary Trip)

Posted by Scott Cowden on

It's remarkable how a trip can seem to go so fast yet so slow at the same time.  While in my head I know it was only one week, it felt much longer, but in a good way.  At the same time, looking back i feel like it just flew by.

It was amazing to help out with BHHP, and it's not something I will forget any time soon.  While I spent most of the time helping out a the high schools, after listening to other's stories, I have no doubt they feel the same way with both other high schools and the random evangelizing at the universities.

Now I sit at home, extremely happy to have slept in my own bed again, but now I sit a little better with the memories of having helped CRU preform God's work in Hungary, and what I learned and experienced there will stay with me for my entire life.  We may not have brought anyone to Christ then and there, but I take a little bit of pride in the hope that I have given at least someone at least a little push in that direction.  maybe it won't be for a long time, but if one day someone I met on the trip says "There was this one time I met this Christian from America" then I could not ask for more.

But now it is back to our normal lives.  This doesn't mean we just move on though.  This trip is something that has changed us and will continue to be a boon to us for a long time.  What God has given us on this trip is something to be cherished, and that's exactly what I'm going to do.

To everyone that supported us, I hope you as well have gained something from all this, because we could never have done it without you.

So thank you,
-Scott Cowden
