You're that big church

Posted by Vince Consoli on

Often when I tell people that I attend The Bible Chapel, their response is, "Oh, you're that big church." Here in western Pennsylvania, multi-site churches are not very common. So "big church" means "unusual church," and they're not sure they want to give us a try.

In my work with the Connections Ministry at the South Hills Campus, we get the "big" question a lot. On our Connect Card and in emails, we frequently hear that people are interested in coming for one reason or another (like for the Children's or Student Ministry), but then they'll say something along the lines of "I'm concerned that you're too big."

Well, it's true that the South Hills Campus is big when it comes to square footage. To help you get oriented here, we have volunteers who will personally show you around if you'd like  - it's their job, and they really enjoy it! So don't be afraid to ask for help when you get here. In fact, that's what my friend and fellow Connections team member Kelly and I talk about in the video below.

But back to this question of whether we're too big. If it's a smaller church you're looking for, we have that! Our Robinson, Washington, and Wilkinsburg Campuses are smaller in size, so we encourage you to check them out. And at our South Hills Campus (the "big" one), we don't just help you get around. We also help you meet people through things like Life Groups and Bible studies, so you can make our big church feel smaller.

Anyway, check out the video and let me know what you think. Kelly and I have decided that vlogging is pretty cool, and we want to know what you'd like to see on the next "Kelly and Vince" episode. If you have questions, we're happy to try and answer them. Let us know in the comments below!

I would really enjoy regular "Kelly and Vince" episodes! Maybe live from the parking lot in the new shuttle...
