Hebrews 12:18-29

 Jesus is Absolutely Supreme!

  1. Be encouraged by others who have finished.
  2. Drop the baggage.
  3. Deal with clinging sin.
  4. Keep your focus on Jesus.
  5. Embrace God’s training program.

 

  1. A healthy community provides healing.

Evangelicals

  • Bible highest authority
  • Personal evangelism important
  • Jesus is only way to salvation

Faith he [found] in “mega-type churches” is a “Bible-less,” “alternative version of Christianity.” Briggs characterizes our love for the Bible as love for an “artifact,” a “keepsake,” or a lucky “rabbit’s foot” [that] mainly stays on the shelf or mantle next to the urn filled with grandpa’s ashes.[1]
