Show Me Your Glory
1. Establish a “Tent of Meeting.”
Francois Fenelon (August 6, 1651 – January 7, 1715), French Roman Catholic Priest
Tell God all that is in your heart, as one unloads one’s heart, its pleasures and its pains, to a dear friend. Tell Him your troubles, that He may comfort you; tell Him your joys, that He may sober them; tell Him your longings, the He may purify them; tell Him your dislikes, that He may help you conquer them, talk to Him of your temptations, that He may shield you from them; lay bare your indifference to good, your depraved tastes for evil, your instability. Tell Him how self-love makes you unjust to others, how vanity tempts you to be insincere, how pride disguises you to yourself and others.
If you pour out all you weaknesses, needs, and troubles there will be no lack of what to say. You will never exhaust the subject. It is continually being renewed. People who have no secrets from each other never want for subjects of conversation. They do not weigh their words, for there is nothing to be held back; neither do they seek for something to say. They talk out of the abundance of the heart, without consideration they say what they think. Blessed are they who attain to such familiar, unreserved, conversation with God.
2. Establish a plan for God’s instruction through His Word.
3. Pray for a fresh realization of God’s Presence.
The Work of the Holy Spirit
- He transforms us.
- He seals us.
- He indwells us.
- He convicts us.
- He teaches us.
- He guides us.
- He gifts us.
- He assures us.
- He prays for us.
4. Pray that this year you will experience God’s Glory in a fresh way.
- What will I do to establish a “tent of meeting”?
- What plan will I use to read God’s Word?
- How will I experience a fresh realization of God’s presence?
- How will I experience God’s greatness in a fresh way?
Since the very beginning, God has been a faithful provider for his people, giving them all that they need to live each day. Thousands of years later, he is still providing for us in the same way.
