Our culture has created a "win at all cost" mentality—the most points, the most trophies, the most championships generally define a winner. Upward defines winning as learning and/or teaching lessons in the game of life—lessons that last long after the season ends.
Upward promotes character and self esteem in every athlete by:

    •    Promoting equal teams and playing opportunities
    •    Limiting practice and games to one hour per week
    •    Creating the opportunity to learn the skills of the game
    •    Special player and team announcements at every game
    •    Presenting every player with special recognition awards after each game and at the Awards Celebration
