Ron received a Doctor of Ministry degree (D. Min. in April 2000) and a Master of Theology (ThM in 1984) degree from Dallas Theological Seminary. He also holds a Master of Arts degree in Education. Ron joined the SHBC staff in 1989. He and his wife, Lori, and their four children, Brittany, Garrison, Lara and Mackenzie, live in Peters Township.

Originally from Michigan, Steve grew up as a missionary kid in Nigeria. Steve holds a Ph.D. in Educational Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (2001) and a Master of Arts in Christian Education from North American Baptist Seminary (1990). He also holds a Master of Arts degree in Counseling. Steve served as Associate Pastor for five years at a Baptist church in Canada; for six years as Minister of Christian Development at a Christian & Missionary Church in Ohio, and joined the SHBC staff in 2004. Steve, his wife, Leanne, and their two children, Nicole and Jared, live in Cecil.

Mike is a native of the South Hills, and met his wife Kristina at Peters Township High School. Mike holds a degree in Communications from Asbury College in Lexington, KY and attended the Focus on the Family Institute. He served as the youth pastor here at SHBC from January 1999 to June 2000. Mike rejoined the SHBC staff in 2004, having earned a Masters of Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary. Mike, his wife, Kristina, son, Jackson and daughter, Raegan, are currently residing in McMurray.

Bob began his career as a Chemical Engineer after graduating from Louisiana State University in 1965. Following his “retirement,” Bob began studying at Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He graduated with a Master of Divinity in 2004. Bob, and his wife Nancy, have been married for forty-one years. They have five children and thirteen grandchildren.

Nathan joins the staff from Flower Mound, Texas where he served for seven years in Youth Ministry. He received his Masters of Christian Education in Youth Ministry from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2006. Prior to entering the ministry, Nathan worked in Higher Education Administration for several universities in the South. Nathan is married to Kim and they have a daughter, Jessica.

Kirk graduated from Grove City College in 1992 with a B.A. In Communications. After leading worship for more than 12 years in Dallas, he spent a year in Colorado Springs at the New Life School of Worship. While there, Kirk was one of two people selected from a pool of 36 to lead worship on Sundays at the 14,000 member New Life Church alongside Ross Parsley, Glenn Packiam, and members of the Desperation Band. Kirk’s heart is to educate and enable people to connect with Jesus in worship. Kirk is married to Missy, and they have two children, Cade and Kylie.

Justin joined the staff as a 2001 graduate of Geneva College. He grew up on a 90-acre farm in north central West Virginia and felt God calling him to ministry when he was a junior in high school. Justin, his wife, Carrie, and daughters Malia and Pressley live in South Park.

Scott was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. Scott attended Gordon-Conwell Theological seminary, during which he met his wife, Lisa. Scott and Lisa were married in 1990, and in 1993 were commissioned as church planting missionaries with Conservative Baptist International (now World Venture) to the country of Slovenia. In 2002, they returned from Slovenia for Scott to assume the job as director of Pittsburgh Region International Student Ministries. For the last five years, Scott has been ministering to international students and visiting scholars that come to the Pittsburgh Region. Scott and Lisa reside in Upper St. Clair and have four boys: Jonathan, Ryan, Matthew, and Tommy.

Nancy graduated from the Teachers College of the University of Zimbabwe in Southern Africa. She taught elementary education in both public and private schools. Upon moving to the United States, Nancy held a ministry position at Emmaus Bible College in Chicago. In 1987, she and her husband, Gordon, were involved in a church plant in Jefferson Boro. Nancy served there for ten years as the Director of Children’s Ministries. The Haresigns live in Whitehall and have two adult daughters who reside in the Pittsburgh area.
