What does it take to be a group leader at The Bible Chapel?
It doesn’t require:
• Knowing the Bible inside and out.
• Having all the answers to everyone’s questions.
• Preparing and teaching a sermon.
It does require:
• A caring heart for others.
• An openness and willingness to share your spiritual journey.
• A desire to apply God’s word in your life and to help others to apply it to their lives.
• An understanding that none of us are perfect and we all make mistakes.
So ask yourself—Are you willing to step out and care for a circle of friends? Are you willing to facilitate discussion? Are you a believer of real, lasting change through community? Are you a believer that real spiritual growth happens with others and does not happen just by hearing a weekly sermon?
What will we study?
Don’t worry about finding your first study. We suggest that new groups use the "Big Idea” materials that discuss and strengthen the weekly sermon. The "Big Idea” lessons are available for download. In addition we have a resource center full of group studies for specific interests.
What you need to know to get started?
First, answer three simple questions:
1. Have you committed your life to Jesus Christ and trust Him for salvation?
2. Are you personally committed to spiritual growth by developing five essentials in your life (Word, Worship, Connect, Serve, Share)?
3. Have you completed the membership process?
Second, remember that you are not alone.
